The Journey Begins

Our new home :)

So we have finally hit the road!! Our unit in Armidale is all packed into storage (YAY!!!). A great little unit for our first year of marriage- though very tight we weren't too sad to say bye bye to it (relative to the caravan it will probably seem spacious in hind sight).

Packing up......

We have said our goodbyes, for now, to a town and people that has given us a great many memories and friendships.

Here begins what will, God willing, be an adventure that lasts a year or so. We hope to travel around Australia- entirely and through the centre too. We hope not to kill one another in our 17.6ft love nest caravan and we look forward to meeting new people (at least Naomi does :)) and seeing great places on route.

We have spent our first week relaxing with Naomi's family in Casino. Catching up family including our niece and new nephew. We have been boating down the Richmond river, pistol shooting at the range (Neil), doing odd modifications to our caravan and catching up with old friends-(The Patemans and Ali Jarrett (Nee Bell) for those who knew them in Armidale days).

The airshow at Lismore also got a visit.

Neil spoilt me (Naomi) with what turned out to be an eventful romantic spa- a couple of drops of bubble bath is all he says he added????You be the judge.

Tomorrow we head for Neil's family at Urunga for a few days before we head to Port Macquarie where Naomi has some casual pathology work. Neil reckons he'll just chill out and maybe be my (Naomi) job search agent so he can keep me in constant work. On the east coast that may be a good arrangement but me thinks once we hit the hot western country we can swap jobs and i'll be the jobs agent :).

The rough plan from there is to keep going south towards Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra, hopefully picking some fruit in the south, then onto to Tassie :).

We'll keep you posted.
