Haven't gone far yet

So we've been on the road nearly 2 months and guess where we are- Newcastle- Morisset to be exact (and no we haven't been incarcirated at the mental hospital here- yet at least).

Since our last blog we traveled to Urunga and spent a few days with Neils folks where it rained and rained- a common theme for us so far :).

We spent some wet days in South West Rocks where we went to the trail bay jail and the smokey cape lighthouse- photo's would follow but there on the camera in the car and it's pouring rain (surprise).

Port Macquarie was next stop- at the wonderful Scott and Caz Hazletons caravan park (for those who know them). Perched up on the side of the hill on a patch of there yet to be landscaped grass- we got the red (ok maybe brown) carpet treatment when Scott kindly rolled us out some carpet to stop us getting muddy feet- rain again :).
The kids kept us amused snipping (cutting with scissors for the uneducated) and I worked a few days at the local hospital whilst Neil did some modifications to the caravan and car- basically he enjoyed spending the money I was earning :p.
The beaches at Port were wild due to the weather but an odd stroll occurred.

Onto Newcastle- I rang our lab in Newcastle for work- they offered me 12mths but I politely declined and took just a month.
I (Naomi) have family in Newcastle and surrounds and friends from high school days here. We are currently parked at my aunt and uncles enjoying the use of both the house and the caravan- so really we are yet to get cabin fever.

The first night at this caravan park was eventful- We heard fireworks- looked out the window and alas I thought the neighbours shed was on fire- Neil wasnt getting up for anything- assuming I was overreacting or imagining things- but with some insistance arose to find the neighbours house erupting in flames- the 'fireworks' were in fact things inside exploding- thank God the house was vacant at the time- arsen is the believed cause.

Neil is playing handy man- working for my Aunt and Uncle to paint there house- Marshmellow Pink!!!! black and white- something like a licorice alsort :).
He has gates to weld and has been doing some large scale lawn mowing for the rich and famous in the Yarramolong valley.

I have about an hours drive to work and back and the lab is super busy compared to Armidale- though less stressful as I have less responsibility :).

We arrived in time for the caravan and camping show which made for a fun weekend. A tour down the underground coal mine with my uncle will follow next weekend and Neil is hoping to get some target shooting in too.

We are planning a trip to Sydney in the coming weeks- though nearly timed it to collide with the Mardi Gra- changes plans to a later date.
